Tanya Burr Triple Chocolate Cookies

Hello Everyone! How are you? On Friday, as a celebration to the weekend I decided to schedule some early morning baking! I’ve attempted to make Tanya’s cookies twice before, and both times something went wrong – First the batter had too much milk and the cookies ended up the size and shape of the cooking tray – whoops. The second time I used the same batter but the next day. Somehow the batter changed overnight. It was dense and I instantly knew before cooking them they weren’t going to be as moist – and I was right. So third time lucky, they turned out perfect!! Moist but baked thoroughly with lots of melted chocolate bits – these are the best cookies in the world. They’re pretty famous in the blogging world, have you tried eating / making them? Here is Tan’s recipe. I can only advise you to follow the recipe word for word, down to the last dust of flour… And don’t be generous with that dash of milk – like in so many cases, less is more here! Enjoy ;) x

To make 10 (rather large) cookies you will need:

200g butter
300g caster sugar
1 large egg
275g self-raising flour
75g cocoa powder
a little dash of milk – tiny, tiny, tiny.
a large bar of milk chocolate (I chose Cadburys Oreo)
a large bar of white chocolate
a large bar of dark chocolate (I thought this was a bit too much – So I added another bar of Cadburys Oreo and Daim mix! Because no that wasn’t too much)
Method:
Pop your oven on to 200 degrees celsius
Cream together your butter and sugar
Crack in your egg
Stir in all the dry ingredients
Add a dash of milk if your mixture IF it’s looking dry
Break up all of your chocolate and throw it in, using your hands to get it into the dough
Line 2 trays with baking paper (the cookies will spread in the oven so don’t place them close together)
Pick up a 10 small handfuls of cookie dough and place them onto your trays
Pop them into the oven for 11 minutes – I have found this to be the perfect baking time. When you get them out they will not look cooked, it is vital you know this, as it will be very tempting to leave them in for longer and then they’ll be hard and overcooked once they are cool. Just take your cookies out after 11 minutes and leave them to cool for about 30 minutes.

My Weekend in Photos

Hello everyone! Thank you so much on the positive feedback for the Emma Hardie post. It made me smile!
How was your weekend? Did you get up to anything fun?
Mine this time wasn’t the best BUT the weekend before was pretty good, I had lots of rest, boyfriend hugs & kisses and had the opportunity to take some great photos, talk about an upcoming fashion shoot (see-my friend Alejandro in the photos, who took these and these cheeky pics of me) and eat some comfort food at the Dublin Prawn Festival in Howth.
I am now reminiscing of better times by looking through these snaps.
Lovely, lovely, weekend goals. I hope you enjoy the photographs :)

Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm with Cleansing Cloth

Amazing, 10/10, perfection, worth every penny, a don’t think about the price product – Because it’s worth it!

IMG_1027

Hello guys! Today without further ado, let’s talk about this little makeup remover. I have been enjoying this guy for a few weeks now, maybe on its’ 1st month mark? I just wanted to form a legit opinion about this cleanser as it’s so hyped up, very nourishing and full of essential oils, a wonder product. She’s a favourite of makeup and skincare gurus so I was sure it was great but was it for MY skin type? Having very oily and grainy skin, I wasn’t sure if this would be the one for me, as adding oil to the fire is never the solution.

The sweetest word on the packaging promise..
“Grape Seed Oil and Sweet Almond Oil rich in essential fatty acids help to plump and softenMoringa seed extract,
Wild Sea Fennel and Vitamin E balance, purify and help to minimise the appearance of open poresEssential oils of Orange, Neroli and Mandarin rejuvenate and revitalise the skin whilst calming the senses
Jasmine and Rose help to recondition dull, dry, dehydrated and mature skins”

Having used it for a month now, I don’t think I could imagine anything better to use on my skin for makeup removal. It REALLY is wondrous. You just apply it onto your dry face, rub a little (very lightly) and it’s gone! It comes with a very effective muslin cloth which you wet and wipe off the makeup / remover mixture with. And it all goes, no grime left, not one bit slippery or oily, my face is always left so clean, the first time I used it, I felt like I’ve been to a facial.
Of course it still feels like that, I have just gotten used to it being very high standards.
The texture feels extremely creamy and luxurious and the smell is fab! I have smelled that smell from a few products lately, all containing neroli oil and I wonder if it could be that?! It smells spa-like, just what you want! #Diva
The other day, I had to use a normal facial wash (which is not a bad brand either and very good for cleansing!) because I wasn’t at home, and the amount of time I had to scrub at my face, with hard movements.. I was not impressed. My eye makeup had to be wiped multiple times, scrubbing much harder than usual to get my normal everyday makeup off. #Diva
It really made me realise just how good the Emma Hardie product was working on my skin. It does not make my face one bit more oily, and my fear of a dirtier face seems ridiculous at this point as it leaves my face the cleanest it’s ever been. She’s also really fun to apply and super quick, despite its’ effectiveness.
Can we talk about the downsides? I feel like I’m getting too positive here. It’s VERY dear, at a retail price of 45 euros in Arnotts (Dublin). It took me nearly 3 weeks to persuade myself to buy it, and when I finally did, I resented it for a few hours thinking, “did I just spend near 50 euros to remove my already expensive makeup… So I’m basically spending lots of money to buy something to put on my face, only to spend even more money on another product to remove it?!”
Doesn’t make sense if you put it like that of course, but on the other hand, it so does. Because makeup forever baby!
A little really does go a long way when applying this, so I’m hoping this product will last me (with intensive use) for a very long time, so I suppose we can call it an investment? Yeah, you know I’m a professional investor.
Anyway, I do strongly recommend you to use this product if you can afford it, as you really only get one skin – so you best take care of it! You’ll be hearing me say that term a few more times in the upcoming weeks :)
Have you tried this product before? Did you think it was this good, perhaps not so suitable for your skin? I love to know your feedbacks on any products I post! <3

Soap and Glory – Wish Upon a Jar VS Beauty Sleep Accelerator

Hello errybody! I am a huge enthusiast of all things beauty. Anything that promises a better complexion / dewy skin / looking like a pretty unicorn, I will surely spend my last penny on it. And it will make me so happy, so so happy that I can’t even explain it to you. I will spread my purchases on the bed, photograph them, show them to everyone that will listen, shout to the world; look I got a new cream! I will then prep my skin and mind up for the promise of the beauty night. Light every candle, switch on every mood light. Run the bath, carefully choosing my film for the night. The effort would impress the Queen of England.

Having tried most Soap and Glory stuff, (big fan!) I am going to dish my opinion about two of their super hyped night facials. The Beauty Sleep Accelerator and the Wish Upon a Jar. To begin with, my skin type is mostly oily, and otherwise normal. I sometimes get some mega spots, but otherwise I “only” battle with oil and blackheads. So if you’re like me, you can be sure my opinion will be valid for your face, too!

Wish Upon A Jar

You are to apply every night after cleansing, with the promise of reducing the appearance of wrinkles, increasing skin elasticity, firming and smoothing.

Did it work? Yes and no! It is super rich and thick, a very posh texture and the smell is incredible (chocolate orange)! But I didn’t see any big changes or rejuvenation on my skin. Since everybody loves it online, my conclusion is that I have used it too young. I’m only 22 years old and this stuff is a 21 day collagen treatment, meaning should you have a lack of collagen and wrinkles on your face, to see a difference? Probably. I did love it, and my face felt lovely and soft, but that’s about it. The jar did last waay more than 21 days, probably about 2 months and I did use it generously every night, so it was worth the price of €20.99. Even though it did not suit my skin, I would totally recommend this to a slightly older crowd, because I do see how it is wondrous. The packaging gets 10/10!

You are to smooth onto a clean face and neck before bed each night of before a long flight.

Now I first purchased this last May, when I was travelling to Granada for a few weeks. I thought; flights, I better get my cream on before all the dirty crap in the A/C affect my face.

And yes, I repurchased it the other day (even though I still have some ‘Wish Upon a Jar’ left) because I loved it ssooo much!

It’s not as flamboyant or fancy as the other jar, which would definitely put me off from trying it, but don’t judge a book by it’s cover!

This cream is a lighter formula, and my skin absorbed it like a thirsty little desert (can you tell I’m the crazy cream girl?). Its’ smell is amazing, like the poshest strawberry peach yogurt. And yes it brought back all my lovely Granada memories, so extra points there!

I would totally recommend this for everyday use, I wake up with smoother, plumper looking skin each morning and once again, can we talk about the smell? Sssoooo good.

€16.99 in Boots IRL.

Have you tried any of these creams before, and if so what did you think of them? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to know if we’re on the same page or if I’m just swimming against the tide! ;)
